iPod as MegaVCR

Hall Davidson shared that the iPod can be used to show videos, images, slide shows, and much much more.

  1. Download videos (web based, unitedstreaming) Tip: Download the QuickTime format.
  2. Convert the video to be compatible with the iPod (.mp4)
  3. Show it class using the AV jacks on the television or projector. Tip: The AV cable for the iPod is less than $20.00 - get the longer one).
  4. With an optional cradle, you can use and S-video (crisper) cable.

Hall demonstrated the process to get PowerPoints onto the iPod. Not too hard - save the slide show as jpegs and move them into the photo libary in iTunes. Keep them together in a playlist and you have your presentation on the iPod (after a sync).

Hall has the presentation posted at the Discovery Education Media Matters blog!
