Hard Work Rewarded!

Two South Western elementary teachers were granted Keystone Technology Integrator status earlier this year when they were recognized by our superintendent as teachers that really use technology to teach.

Now, those same teachers are being recognized by the larger educational community! Erik Wittmer and Stephanie Holmberg were selected to attend the annual Keystone Summit this summer at Shippensburg. This summit will give them the opportunity to meet and work with other technology integrators from all over the state of Pennsylvania. All South Western elementary schools have a Keystone now, as Jenn Wilson and Kathy Stetter were selected last year.

We’re lucky to work with these teachers and our students are lucky to have them. If you’re wondering just what is happening in these classrooms, just ask the smiling students!

  6. Thanks! I just wanted to mention that just a year or two ago I was intimidated with technology and many of the programs on the pc (go mac!). But I’m a good example of teaching “old dogs new tricks”. I still feel overwhelmed a lot of the time when I realize that there are so many programs and concepts I’ve never even heard of! (And I think that most of us do!) But if you are interested in using technology with the students, just decide what you want them to know and learn about the one program that will help you achieve your goal and its not quite as overwhelming. We don’t have to be good at it all to design lessons that the kids will enjoy! (And it does take time to plan a project, but once you see how excited the students are and how well they learn, it is well worth it!)

  7. Congratulations Erik and Steph!!

  8. Way to go Erik and Steph!
