Pete and C 2008
I *heart* my network! I have attended Pete and C every year for a good number of years. The sessions are usually pretty good, the keynotes are great and the chocolate is flowing (the conference is in Hershey, PA). This year was the best year so far. I’ve really expanded my network this past year, so I know more people and am able to make more face to face connections than in the past. That’s great, but it gets better!
Last year, I used the blog to post refections on the sessions I attended. If I attend every session, that makes a total of 9 breakouts. Pretty good! This year, I decided to start a wiki for my teachers to post summaries, notes, links from the sessions they attended. My goal was to have them learn more about wikis and have a bank of session notes for all to share. Well…I pushed the link to the wiki out to my network through Skype and Twitter and now the wiki is loaded with input from many folks at the conference. Now, instead of learning from 9 sessions, I have access to summaries and links from at least double that amount. I know some folks will continue to add notes after the conference too.
No more pieces of paper with scrawled links that get lost…no more trying to recall email addresses or keep straight what was said in which session. Michael Baker from Eduwiki references collective intelligence in his session on Tuesday morning. The Reporting Back wiki is my first experience with it and I’m hooked! If you couldn’t attend Pete & C, but want to learn what went on - visit the wiki at http://reportingback.wikispaces.com. The old saying rings true here ‘the more the merrier ‘. Join in the learning! Join in the fun!

Thank you for providing this. I am at the conference and your notes will provide more information for all those sessions I wanted to attend but could not.
